2B

I found a magic wand among my things

A slender wooden baton with a tip

Embossed with cryptic signs and gilded rings

It fit my hand just so, with comfy grip

It told me I should take a pristine sheet

And sit in silence, waiting for a call

A muse would come to make the scene complete

To bring about a certain magic spell

The wand to hand, I settled down to see

Allowed my mind to wander, look around

At length the muse appeared and spoke to me

I took the wand and worked without a sound

And as I coaxed it gently to and fro

It conjured first a ghostly kind of smile

And then two eyes with spirit full aglow

This wand had all the power to beguile

And when the muse was fading, duty done

The face I’d drawn was smiling back at me

My wand had brought to life this bit of fun

Sometimes a pencil’s all you need 2B
