Finger-painting

While her grandad perseveres with art classes, three-year-old Matilda is a natural, especially with paint. Today’s poem was triggered by a short video posted by Matilda‘s mum, in which mum is saying (tongue in cheek) “This isn’t quite what we discussed…“ as Matilda, grinning, gestures with a bright blue painted hand. The photo that goes with the poem is effectively a still from the video. I am very tempted to have a go at painting it with acrylics when we get to the acrylics class again next term. On the subject of drawing and painting, I am accumulating more and more sketches, particularly portraits, and like to think that there is some improvement happening. It occurred to me to possibly start a separate section on this website called Pointy Pictures and post some of them there from time to time. I’m thinking about it. Watch this space. Or don’t. It’s up to you! Either way, any feedback appreciated as always… Read the poem here
