Given that pictures have always been an important element in Pointypoems, and that I have now started to produce some pictures myself, we decided, my lovely web-designer and I, to redesign the site to accommodate this blog plus two creative channels: Pointypoems for the poems (obvs) and Pointypencils for the drawings I produce myself. Yesterday I found myself sitting in the garden looking at the birds coming and going from my bird-feeder. I opened my sketchbook, clicked my biro, and went into a trance... It's ridiculous how much fun you can have with a biro and a piece of paper if you just let it all happen. 15 minutes later I was sitting calm, focused, looking at this little drawing. So, the title of this post refers to 'Pointypencils' whereas this drawing was done with a pen. "Pointypens" scans equally well but makes no sense. Pencils can be pointy. A biro is a biro (save that it is actually an eponym, but we'll let that pass, you know perfectly well that I am referring to a ball-point pen). Pointypencils will present artwork in whatever format I happen to use...
